programs

creativity is the bridge that connects people of all abilities.

Through art, music, and community, our Artists in Residence discover their talents, build friendships, and experience the joy of belonging.

All Kinds of Art

This program celebrates creativity, confidence, and the belief that every artist has something unique to share.

At Many Colors, our Artists in Residence explore a wide variety of art forms — from fine arts and mosaic work to knitting, weaving, lino-printing, and pottery.

Local Artist Mentors guide participants, teaching the skills and techniques needed to create beautiful and meaningful works of art. Each year, our community comes together for the Annual Art Exhibit and Sale, where Artists not only showcase their work but also experience the accomplishment of earning income from their creations.

Making Beautiful Music

Through music, our Artists discover joy, confidence, and new ways to express themselves.

What began as a small gathering around a lunch table has grown into the beloved Many Colors Music Makers. Starting with simple songs like You Are My Sunshine and This Little Light of Mine, the program blossomed as Artist Mentors introduced instruments like the hammer dulcimer, ukulele, xylophone, and percussion.

Thanks to generous community support, our Artists now enjoy weekly sessions that culminate in an annual Christmas concert. Each session also includes “Brain Music” — a time for Artists to improvise with the instrument of their choice, filling the halls with music that is often described as haunting and exquisite.

Becoming a Community

Community and Inclusion sets Many Colors apart and creates a space where everyone belongs.

At Many Colors, art and music are just the beginning. The heart of our work is building community — a place where friendships grow, volunteers feel fulfilled, and everyone is valued.

Our Artists in Residence thrive with the support of a Behavioral Specialist and a Registered Behavior Tech, who develop personalized behavior support plans. These plans help Artists grow in independence and life skills while ensuring they feel safe, respected, and supported. Volunteers, too, benefit from this guidance, enabling them to connect more deeply with our participants.
